Bachelorette Party Photo Ideas, Hour by Hour
Somebody always ends up as the unofficial photographer, and they always end up missing from the photos. Splitting the day into hourly prompts fixes that without anyone having to be in charge: the hour comes round, whoever is nearest shoots it, and the person who organised the whole thing is finally in the frame.
Twelve hours takes you from the first arrival to whatever the night becomes. The later prompts are deliberately looser - by hour ten nobody is following instructions, and the shot list should not pretend otherwise.
Suggested Sway setup
- Length
- 12 hours ยท 12 photos
- Start it
- When the first guest drops her bag, not when the party officially starts.
- Mode
- Everyone sees every photo
Open is better here. People arriving late want to see what they missed on the way over.
The shot list
- 1
First arrival
Bags in the hallway, coat still on. Shoot before hugs are finished.
- 2
The decorations, half up
Mid-assembly beats finished. Someone on a chair, someone holding tape.
- 3
The bride, not posing
Doing something ordinary - pouring, reading a label, laughing at someone else.
- 4
Matching everything
Sashes, shirts, robes, whatever the theme is. Shoot the pile, not the people.
- 5
Getting ready
The bathroom counter at peak chaos. Nobody tidies first.
- 6
The group, badly organised
One frame, no countdown, somebody definitely blinking.
- 7
First drink out
Table, bar, boat, whatever it is. Hands in shot.
- 8
The dare
Whatever the game just made someone do. Evidence.
- 9
The one who is done
Every group has one by now. Affectionate, not cruel.
- 10
Dance floor from the edge
Do not go in. Shoot it from the outside, blurry is fine.
- 11
Food, at the wrong hour
Whatever was ordered at midnight, wherever it is being eaten.
- 12
The shoes
Shot from above, wherever they were finally taken off.
Three things worth knowing
- Set the Sway up the week before and send the invite once - nobody wants to be onboarding an app while holding a drink.
- Name the Sway something the bride will search for in two years, not 'Sat night'.
- The final video plays every hour in order, so a gap at hour seven is the loudest thing in it. Assign hours to whoever is soberest.
Run this list as a Sway
Set it to 12 hours, invite the people you are with, and everyone gets one photo per hour. When it ends, the whole thing becomes a single split-screen video.
